We talked about it over and over the week before. He seemed really excited to ride the school bus, that is, until he realized he didn't get to drive! HA! After recovering from that meltdown, we gave him the choice the morning of the field trip. He stayed strong in saying he wanted to ride with mommy. On our way to school he kept asking me questions about the school bus. How will I get strapped in? When I replied, "There are no carseats or seat belts on school buses" he was having none of it. He said, "That's too dangerous mommy, I'm riding with you." We got to school and I told his teacher he wasn't sure about riding on the school bus. She asked him if he would ride if she sat right next to him the whole time. That's all it took! He changed his attitude and was riding the bus. Cue the mommy panic!
I got as many pictures as I could, but I was busy trying my best to help! Props to all of these amazing teachers for handling all of the littles ones. I was exhausted just watching them! The day was much hotter than expected which was an added challenge for everyone.
It's times like these that make me SO happy I made the choice to stay at home with my kids. Being able to be there for all of these firsts is priceless. How could I resist spending the morning with this super sweet yellow class?!?
